Create report

To create a report open CoPlanner report designer. Base for a report is one or more data objects. CoPlanner Cubes, CoPlanner Tables and OLAP-Cubes are available as data objects. In this example a report is generated based on the CoPlanner cube "Meine Umsatzplanung".

Create parameter

Parameters can be created via Ribbon "Parameter"

Reporting, Parameterdialog

In this dialog parameters can be defined/removed, names adjusted and a default value or edit selection values can be set.

Input

Create a new parameter named "show_aberration" and confirm with OK. In the "Text" field type in "Show aberration". Choose Type "text". Click button "Values..." and add two values, Yes and No and confirm with OK. Choose Yes as "Default" and close the dialog with OK.

Usage of the parameter follows in 'Define conditional visibility based on the parameter'.

Insert table using table assistant

The table assistant can be opened via Ribbon "Table-Assistant" or via the element selection box which is opened for the first time when you create a new report. Using the symbol 'Table' in the ribbon the data base can be chosen. An Assistant is available to support the definition of the report. In this example a report is generated based on the CoPlanner cube "Meine Umsatzplanung".

A click on 'Assistent...' will open the assistent.

Reporting, Table assistant

  • Filters: Filters are moved into the report using Drag & Drop. Between 0 and n filters can be defined.
  • Rows: X-Axis is defined here. The dimension which is used here is showed on the X-Axis in the report.
  • Columns:Y-Axis is defined here. The dimension which is used here is showed on the Y-Axis in the report.
  • Values: Measures which should be showed in the report are defined here. Use Drag & Drop too.
Input  Select in the list of cubes the cube "Meine Umsatzplanung".

On the left side dimensions and measures available. Dimensions are used as Axis or Filters and measures are used as values. All elements which are not moved into the data area are ignored.

Input  Define your data basis. Define Filter: PC/KST, Plan, Unternehmen and Zeit. Drag dimension Zeit into the field Rows and drag dimension Produkte into the field Columns .

As measures define Umsatz and Umsatz IST VJ using Drag & Drop. Confirm with OK.

Reporting, Selection Databasis

The violet arrow shows in which direction the dimension is clamped. This setting is configurable with a click on the arrow. A right-click inside the table offers a context menu.

Add a calculated Measure

A context menu is available using the right mouse button in the table.

Input  Click with the right mouse button in the table and select 'Insert/column right'

A new column will be inserted on the right side.

Afterwards activate the insert of a calculation via Ribbon 'Formula' and click again in the second field of the new column or insert the formula via context menu using 'Insert item-Formula'. The Formula Assistant will be opened. Capture this formula: [Umsatz]-[Umsatz_IST_VJ] and confirm with OK. Afterwards a dialog is shown and requests a name. Give the name 'Abw' to the dialog.

It is also possible to access measures of other data objects. Click on the dropdown field with description "Please select a data object" on the left bottom. CoPlanner Cube, CoPlanner Table and OLAP-Cube are available as data objects. If you select a CoPlanner cube you have access to all measures of this cube titled "Measures" and also to the measures which were already defined in the table titled "Measures in table".

Reporting, Select data object

Reporting, Extension calculated measure

A double-click in the description columns allows to rename the description.

Hint  Of course it is also possible to show measures from other data source respectively calculate with them.

A click on 'report' shows a preview of the report.

Remove and Insert of additional measures/dimensions

To remove a measure/dimension later from the report you have to select the appropriate measure/dimension and remove it using the ENTF-Key. Insert of new measure/dimension is done by Drag & Drop. Drag the desired measure/dimension to the desired position. If you would like to change the layout of the measures(fields) select the appropriate measure and drag it to the new position. A pink line shows the actuals position at which the measure will be inserted.

Change of data object and add dimension as filter

It is also possible to visualise measure/dimension from other data objects. For this purpose the appropriate data object has to be selected in 'Data'.

Reporting, Dimension as axis element

If you would like to use a dimension as filter you have to drag the dimension into the filter area instead of an axis. A dimension which is already used on an axis can also be used as a filter.

Reporting, Dimension as Filter

A right click on an axis dimension opens a dimension related context menu which can be used to edit the definition of the axis. A right click on a measure opens also a 'measure related' context menu.

Input  Drag the product dimension on the vertical and the time on the horizontal axis. Choose these dimensions as filter: Plan, Unternehmen, PC/KST, Regionen/Kunden, Umsatzerlösarten, Vergleichsplan und die Zeit.

Define conditional visibility based on the parameter

Based on the parameter it is now possible to define conditions when cells should be visible and when not. In our example the visibility of the aberration column depends on the parameter 'show_aberration'.

Input  Select with CTRL the two aberration cells. Select Conditional visibility in the properties. Create this entry: '{show_aberration}='Yes'

Formatting measures

Of course it is possible to customize measures. Following number formats are customized and a conditional visibility is set.

Input  Mark the calculated measures aberration by a click. Now you can see the properties of the measures on the right side. Change the number format to 'n0' to suppress positions after decimal point. Click on the 'not defined' in the conditional visibility . Two formats are created: red and green. For red select font color red and click on the "F" to get a bold font. For green select the green font. Two conditions are created: <3000 with condition [aberration]<3000 and style green and >3000 with the condition [aberration]>3000 and style red.

A click on the icon 'Report' opens the report view. The aberration is shown red or green depending on the value greater or smaller than 3000. If the parameter show_aberration is set to No the column aberration is blended out.

Insert chart

The symbol "Chart" allows to insert a chart into the report. There is an assistant which should offer support to create the chart.

A click on 'Assistant...' opens the assistant.

In the next step you select the appropriate data object on which the chart should be generated.CoPlanner Cube, CoPlanner Table and OLAP-Cube are available as data objects.

Input  Select CoPlanner Cube "Meine Umsatzplanung" as data object.

After the selection of the data source the next step is to define the measures and dimensions in the chart. All dimensions and measures are listed in the selected data object which are available in the selected cube. Measures which are not number-format are not appropriate for graphics are shown grayed out and are not usable. Additionally, there is the possibility to define one or more Calculated Measure. Here you also have the possibility to use measures of other data objects. Click on the drop down field with description "Please select a data object" on the left bottom. CoPlanner Cube, CoPlanner Table and OLAP-Cube are available as data objects . If you select a CoPlanner cube you have access to all measures of this cube titled "Measures" and also to the measures which were already defined in the table titled "Measures in graphic".

Input  Drag the dimension "Produkte" into the X-Axis and the measures "Menge" and "Menge IST VJ" into the column value.

For that just click on the field with the description "Please select a data object" respectively if you have chosen already an object the name of the chosen object is listed here. If you select a CoPlanner Cube you have access to the cubes measures "Measures" but also to the measures which are already defined in the chart "Measures in chart".

Input  Drag the "Add" under the calculated measures in the value column. The formula assistant will be opened. Chose the category "Measure in diagram" and capture this formula: [Menge]-[Menge IST VJ] and confirm with OK. After this a dialog is shown which requests a name. Type in the name 'Abw'.

Edit of measures

Measures can be edited further. A click on the arrow beside the measure name opens a context menu. Here you have the possibility to change the order, add filters, remove the measure and general settings. Under settings you have the possibility to change the name, define a color, adapt the display-type and define series- and axisformat. Furthermore you can add a sort sequence and define if the values in the chart should be labeled or not.
