Insert chart via Assistant

The symbol "Chart" allows to insert a chart into the report. There is an assistant which should offer support to create the chart.

A click on 'Assistant...' opens the assistant.

In the next step you select the appropriate data object on which the chart should be generated.CoPlanner Cube, CoPlanner Table and OLAP-Cube are available as data objects.

Input  Select CoPlanner Cube "Meine Umsatzplanung" as data object.

After the selection of the data source the next step is to define the measures and dimensions in the chart. All dimensions and measures are listed in the selected data object which are available in the selected cube. Measures which are not number-format are not appropriate for graphics are shown grayed out and are not usable. Additionally, there is the possibility to define one or more Calculated Measure. Here you also have the possibility to use measures of other data objects. Click on the drop down field with description "Please select a data object" on the left bottom. CoPlanner Cube, CoPlanner Table and OLAP-Cube are available as data objects . If you select a CoPlanner cube you have access to all measures of this cube titled "Measures" and also to the measures which were already defined in the table titled "Measures in graphic".


Input  Drag the dimension "Produkte" into the X-Axis and the measures "Menge" and "Menge IST VJ" into the column value.

Hint  Just one dimension can be dragged on the axis.


Insert of calculated measures

Additionally there is the possibility to define one or more calculated measures. There is also the possibility to use measures of other data objects. For that just click on the field with the description "Please select a data object" respectively if you have chosen already an object the name of the chosen object is listed here. If you select a CoPlanner Cube you have access to the cubes measures "Measures" but also to the measures which are already defined in the chart "Measures in chart".


Input  Drag the "Add" under the calculated measures in the value column. The formula assistant will be opened. Chose the category "Measure in diagram" and capture this formula: [Menge]-[Menge IST VJ] and confirm with OK. After this a dialog is shown which requests a name. Type in the name 'Abw'.


Edit of measures

Measures can be edited further. A click on the arrow beside the measure name opens a context menu. Here you have the possibility to change the order, add filters, remove the measure and general settings. Under settings you have the possibility to change the name, define a color, adapt the display-type and define series- and axisformat. Furthermore you can add a sort sequence and define if the values in the chart should be labeled or not.

Input  Open the settings via the arrow on the measure 'Abw'. Chose name 'Abweichung' and type 'Line'. Confirm with OK.


Adjustment of axis and data points

There is the possibility via a right-click in the preview to show or not show the axis and to define if data points should be shown.

Input  Right click in the chart preview. Unselect 'Show Y-Axis' and 'Show data points'.


Select colour scheme

You can select pre-defined color schemes for the chart.


Input  Select a color scheme via the 'Colours' Dropdown in the right upper corner.


The filters in this step are overtaken by the basis cube. Filters can be moved or removed by the dropdown menu of the particular filter. A click on "Finish" will insert the chart into your report.

The assistant is useful to create fast and simple graphics. You can find a description of the settings here.

For all further settings make a double-click on the chart. You can find a detailed description of these settings here.


Input  Click on "Report" in the ribbon.

The report is being generated and instantly available.

Insert chart without Assistant

Using the symbol 'Chart' in the ribbon charts can be inserted. Just click on the second icon 'Chart' and stretch it in the report. A dialog to create the chart will be opened.

The dialog 'Data' is used to select data. Chose on the left side your desired data object. XXX.

After choosing a data source measures and dimensions have to be defined. For that a list of dimensions and measures is shown which are included in your data object. Additionally is it possible to define a [Framework:BI Center:Formula Editor|calculated measure].

Drag your desired dimension into the X-Axis(horizontal) or Y-Axis(vertical)

Hint  Just one dimension can be dragged on an axis.


To display data in the chart is necessary to define measures. For that drag one or more measure in the column value. To define filters drag them also into the filter bar. These filters are available in the filter bar to limit the graphic.

There is also the possibility to access measures from other data objects. For that click on the dropdown field from the data selection and chose the desired object. CoPlanner Cubes, CoPlanner Tables and OLAP-Cubes are available as data objects. If you choose a CoPlanner Cube you have access to all measures defined in this cube and furthermore you can define a [Framework:BI Center:Formula Editor|calculated measure].

To define a calculated measure in the graphic drag the element into the column 'value'. Afterwards the dialog for the formula assistant XXX opens automatically. Here you can define your formula. After the definition you define the dialog with OK. An other dialog is shown which demands a name for your calculated measure. Enter a name and confirm with OK. In the graphic the new calculated measure is visualized instantly.

Finish will create the graphic in the report. 'Next' allows you to take further settings. A detailed description of these settings is available here XXX.

To change settings afterwards you can make a double click on the graphic to open the settings dialog for the chart.
