Starting CoPlanner Enterprise Edition
When you start CoPlanner, the following login window appears. Please select the desired company and scenario. Please note that all data will be entered for the company and scenario you select at this point!

| Hint In your first CoPlanner session – before entering your company name and a plan version – please login with the default example company (Bike GmbH) and the scenario (Budget 2010). Once you have logged into CoPlanner, you can enter your custom settings and login with your company name and your scenario during your next session. |
Login Messages
Login can fail for a number of reasons.

In this case it is impossible to establish a connection to the CoPlanner server. Please notify your CoPlanner administrator or PowerUser. Login may be refused owing to the defined security settings. This may occur for the following reasons:
If this message appears, please verify that your user name and password are correct. The user name and password are case-sensitive. Please make sure caps lock is turned off.
If this message appears, your user name is not authorised to access the selected scenario. To login to this scenario, the user must be added to the selected scenario in the Scenario Manager. Please notify your CoPlanner administrator or PowerUser.
If this message appears, your user name does not have read permission for the selected company. To login to this company, the user group to which the user name belongs must be granted read permission for the company in the User Manager. Please notify your CoPlanner administrator or PowerUser.
First Steps and Program Components
The navigation and control structure of CoPlanner was designed to emulate a typical planning process. The CoPlanner Standard Model is divided into four sections: Model, Control, Analysis, and Reporting.
The Model ribbon allows you to enter the settings that are relevant to your company. You can define your profit centres, customise the default profit and loss structure of CoPlanner to your company, and enter your specific seasonal distributions. This is also where you can manually enter your actual data if required.
The Control ribbon is the core area of CoPlanner. Here you can perform your planning activities, which will be divided into the ideal-typical sections. You can select different input modes depending on whether you want a rough or a detailed plan – depending on the weighting of the different sections for your plan. In this section, CoPlanner also offers the option of manually entering your actual data.
Finally, the Reporting ribbon allows you to analyse your target data and your actual data and to compare the two data sets. CoPlanner includes a number of standard evaluations which you can apply to your data. You can also easily create custom evaluations in the included BI Centre. A CoPlanner Excel Add-In provides additional options for designing custom reports and evaluations directly in Microsoft Excel.
Work Area
The CoPlanner Work Area will continually display current news about your version. Additionally, you can click on the envelope icon to send email direct to us. To launch the online help, please click the question mark icon.

Quick Access Toolbar
The Quick Access Toolbar is located at the top right next to the round CoPlanner button. The advantage of this toolbar is that it is always in the foreground. Every user can place the most frequently used commands on this toolbar to have them easily available at all times.
Multi-Function Bar
The Multi-Function Bar at the top of the window contains the most important commands in the form of tabs for easy access (e.g. Model, Planning, Actual Data, etc.). Several of these tabs are grouped together in each category. The Multi-Function Bar has three sections:
The tabs for individual important sections The tabs are subdivided into groups. The name of each group appears at the bottom (e.g. the first group on the Model tab is named OLAP Dimensions, etc.) The groups themselves contain commands (e.g. Company, Profit Centre/Cost centre, Products, etc.)
Context tabs
Some tabs are only shown when they are needed. For example, when you open a mask, the Functions tab displays the name of the mask and the commands that can be used in it. When you have finished working with this tab, all you need to do is click outside the mask to make the normal groups reappear.
Structure of the ribbons
The ribbons contain a hierarchical list of categories comprising Standard (not displayed), Control, Analysis, and Reporting. The ribbons contain all the levels you need for your planning.
The categories in the ribbons are described below.
Standard
The Standard category contains the Model tab, which consists of the groups OLAP Dimensions, Structure Dimensions, and Planning Parameters.
Control
The category Control contains the Planning and Actual Data tabs. The Control tab contains planning masks divided into the following groups: Success Planning on Monthly Basis, Success Planning on Yearly Basis, Balance Sheet and Financial Planning, and Long-Term Planning. The Actual Data tag contains the groups Income Statement and Balance Sheet, which provide masks for manually entering actual data, and analysis masks in the Reports group.
Analysis
The Analysis category features the BI Centre and ad-hoc Analysis tabs, where you can create custom analysis masks with the BI Centre and the Analyser. You can also use the analyses provided by the program.
Reporting
The Reporting category offers the Report Cockpit tab. Here you can access the CoPlanner reporting features based on Microsoft Reporting Services.
The Navigation Structure contains a hierarchical list of the four standard categories, Model, Control, Analysis, and Reporting. The Navigation Structure contains all the levels you need for your planning. The Navigation Structure does not open automatically on startup. To display the Navigation Structure, please select Navigation Structure in the main menu. To close the Navigation Structure, simply click on the Close symbol (File:X.JPG ).

| File:EE Schließen.jpg | Close element |
You now have a number options for displaying the Navigation Structure.

In the above image, the Navigation Structure was undocked and placed in the desired position by dragging and dropping. You can re-dock the floating Navigation Structure by dragging and dropping it onto one of the docking points.
The contents of the Navigation Structure correspond to the contents of the Ribbons.
Status Bar
The Status Bar of CoPlanner (at the bottom of the program window) displays the settings with which you logged in.
The area marked in red contains a CoPlanner Cube. This cube may display three different states, depending on its colour (blue , yellow , or red ). The default colour of the CoPlanner Cube is blue . If a command such as “Open report” is being processed on the CoPlanner Server, the cube will be yellow . A red cube indicates that there is a problem. The red cube may appear, for example, when data for automatic actual data importing is supplied in an incorrect data format. If you see this red cube, please contact your PowerUser.
