The navigation designer is composed of the following elements

Ribbon

The icons in the toolbar have the following functions:

Button Action
Checking/unchecking of the dimension, so it can be processed. This button may appear in different states:
The dimension may be “unchecked”.
The dimension is “unchecked” and available for processing.
The dimension is currently opened by another user.
Resetting the dimension
Saves all changes
Deletes the selected element
Creates a new element at the same level
Creates a new element at the level below
Creates several new elements
Sorts the dimension elements in alphabetical order
Navigation: moves the selected element within one and the same level in the tree upwards and downwards or moves the element one level up or down.
Opens the dialog box “Find”
Show details of attributes
Show attributes as a list
Double display of dimensions


Level selection

If you mouse-click on the level selection you can increase or reduce the view to several levels. The number shown indicates the number of the hierarchy levels to be displayed.

Working area

In this area you create and maintain your navigation structure:

Navigation elements are created in the working area and must have a unique identification. You may arrange navigation elements in any way you want and create classifications or structures as you wish. Nods in the structures have an extra icon or . By mouse-clicking on this icon you can open or close lower levels.

As for deleting and moving / drawing of dimension elements please see the user’s manual.

The ribbons in the CoPlanner are built according to the classification of the elements in the navigation designer. The ribbons in the upper part contain the most important commands as tab in the direct access (e. g. model, planning, actual data, etc.). Some of these tabs are grouped into one category. The multi function bar is composed of three areas:

Tabs for one important area each. The tabs contain the groups. The name of the various groups is indicated below (e. g. in the “model” tab the group OLAP dimensions, etc.). Within the groups there are the commands (e. g. companies, PC/cost center, products, etc.). Display of the classification levels in the ribbon:

  • 1st level: category
  • 2nd level: tab
  • 3rd level: group
  • 4th level: commands
  • 5th level and below: sub-commands


Hint  The first category “Standard” is not shown in the CoPlanner Client.


Line header

The line header serves as a status display of the dimension element. The following displays are possible:


Button Action
The dimension element is blocked – it cannot be deleted.
The dimension element has been modified.
The dimension element has been enabled for deletion and will be finally deleted during the next saving process.

In order to display navigation attributes please activate the “Show attributes in detail” icon in the toolbar. The icon will then appear pressed.
