In this dialog you determine which default settings are applied when creating or importing roles and users.
Click on the button
in the ribbon and the following dialog appears:
The basic settings can individually be defined for a user and a role. You can define the basic settings for the following objects:
Menu Item
These settings refer to the creation of new items in the navigation designer and their representation in the ribbon.
| Right of access | Description |
| Visible | New menu items in the navigation designer are immediately visible to members of the role or the user. The data of an input mask is only visible and cannot be changed by the user. |
| Invisible | New menu items in the navigation designer are not visible to the members of the role or the user. The item is not displayed in the ribbon or in the navigation structure. |
| Change data | New menu items in the navigation designer are visible to the members of the role and the user and the data can be changed by the user. |
Dimension
These settings refer to the creation of new elements of any dimension.
| Right of access | Description |
| Write | New elements of a dimension are visible to members of the role and the user and data can be edited. |
| Read | New elements of a dimension are only visible to members of the role and the user. |
| No access | New elements of a dimension are not visible to members of the role and the user. |
Scenario
These settings refer to the creation of new scenarios in the scenario manager.
| Right of access | Description |
| Write | Members of the role and the user are granted full access to new scenarios. |
| Read | Members of the role and the user are only allowed to read new scenarios. |
| No Access | Members of the role and the user are denied access to new scenarios. At the login the access restriction is displayed in the dialog. |
Public Objects
This setting refers to the creation of new objects in the BI center in the directory “Common objects” and subdirectories of this folder. The setting concerns the following objects in this directory or subdirectory:
- Subdirectories
- Analyzing masks
- Row views
- Reports
- Data sources
This permission is assigned on folder level and therefore refers to all subordinated objects.
